We had the nicest overnight stay At Melissa's. (Best name ever.) First of all, I wanted the trip to be a surprise, and Melissa was so accommodating in setting me up with a last-minute stay in the middle of the week when I was sure it would work out for us to get to Rehoboth. I really appreciated her help, nice communications, and flexibility. We got the prettiest room, decorated beautifully, with its own bathroom and lovely windows. Melissa is available but leaves you to your own devices. We had just enough time for a nap before dinner in town, and the place was super quiet at night, too. Complimentary beer and wine is available whenever you'd like it, which is a nice touch, as well as sodas and water from the free vend machine outside. The breakfast is self-serve and filling. Beach stuff is available to use as well. I would love to come back when we had more time to actually take advantage of this, as well as the great front porch, but for a celebratory one-night getaway, it was just as perfect. Wi-fi is free, which is great for geeks like us. I of course left my raincoat in the closet when I left, and hadn't gotten a chance to check to see if Melissa had found it. It arrived in the mail today. Little touches like this -- along with a great experience for an inexperienced b&b traveler -- made me a fan. I hope to go back sooner than later.

My wife and I returned from our second visit to Melissa's at the end of August...very reluctantly I might add! We stayed in a cozy room on the first floor (last year we were upstairs) and it was always very quiet and relaxing. Melissa thinks of everything from your time on the beach (towels, beach chairs and water bottles) to your time spent relaxing in her home (shampoo and blow dryers in the rooms, a plentiful supply of games, books and magazines, and the wine and beer flow freely)! She also gave us great restaurant recommendations. The charming house is located within easy walking distance from the boardwalk but retains a very peaceful atmosphere. It's fun to have breakfast on the front porch and watch cyclists go by or the families on their way to the beach. Speaking of breakfast... everyday there is something new set up buffet-style! Waffles, sausages, bacon, hard boiled eggs, fruit, waffles, all kinds of juices, little homemade quiches, waffles... :) It's also hard to resist the outside shower.. so invigorating! There is a grill out back and plenty of space for gathering and eating. Needless to say, we look forward to continuing to make At Melissa's our favorite beach vacation spot for years to come!

Booked here for 25th anniversary getaway and clincher was the all gluten free breakfast for the wife with a wheat allergy. Do NOT let that deter you non-gluten free eaters! The breakfast was fabulous. Lots of fresh fruit, granola, 3 types of pure fruit juices, hot egg casserole and/or fresh made waffles, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cranberries, slivered almonds, muffins and bacon and/or sausage links. Melissa, the B&B owner, is such a personable & tireless hostess. Fresh coffee & tea is available 24/7 as is white & red wine, sodas and bottled or filtered water. The room was very comfortable & exceptionally clean. Just an all-around awesome place to stay & Melissa gets all the credit.

Great B & B! Melissa runs a fantastically relaxed, friendly B & B. The guest rooms are not overly dressed with fussy ruffles and lace. Don't get me wrong I like those things, but sometimes it's a bit too much. These rooms were minimally appointed with private baths. Our's was on the first floor which I initially thought would mean we'd have no privacy and would be noisy as it was directly across from the front porch door. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Even though we could hear the other guest chatting and laughing on the porch, it wasn't obtrusive. It was like staying at a friends or relatives house. Cozy, but not crowded. The house had a great little back court yard for sitting on the steps to sit and talk while sipping wine, an area for smokers (if that's your thing), a great hammock. Plus the front porch was the perfect spot to enjoy Melissa's thoughtful complimentary wines before dinner. She offered great advise on the area, restaurants and a glimpse of life as a B & B owner and living at the beach. Not to mention the extended continental offered waffles, cold and hot cereals, and champagne and juice more mimosas! On Sunday she offered all these again, plus scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The smell of frying bacon woke us on Sunday morning. How perfect is that! Wait these more...she served chocolate pound cake too. Wow gotta love a girl that serves champagne and chocolate for breakfast. A very thoughtful touch! This is our new favorite place. I hate staying at hotels, here you can relax, be social or not, and walk the 1 block to the beach. All of this made for a perfect birthday weekend planned by my wonderful husband! We'll be back!

Not a better place to stay when you're at the beach. Melissa is Rehoboth!
